Registration form Masterclass 2026

The 19th edition of the Byzantine Chant Masterclass in Iași (July 13–17, 2026) has been prepared for you in physical format (limited to 150 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, and in compliance with current regulations), as well as with the option for online participation. (For international students, please note that the workshops and conferences will be conducted in Romanian and Greek, and translation from Greek to Romanian will be provided for Mr. Dimos Papatsalakis‘s courses).

Completing and submitting this form, along with paying the registration fee, entitles participants to attend all activities within the event (theoretical and practical courses, conferences, and debates)—in the hall for the first registered participants, and online for the remaining ones. During the online activities, you can submit written comments and questions to the guests using the platform’s chat feature. With the instructor’s consent and at their request, online participants may also ask questions directly via audio/video connection.

N.B. In order to pay the registration fee, you must fill in all the fields in the order form and create a personal account on shop.byzantion.ro.

After registration, the Byzantion Facebook page and the website https://byzantion.ro will be the official sources of information for the participants regarding any update of the program or unforeseen change in the organization of the event.

    Completing this form implies that you have read and agree to the following information and recommendations:

    1. Recording and broadcasting images or sound throughout the event is not permitted. We also ask participants to avoid commenting on the internet on any aspect of the course, taken out of the context in which it was approached.
    2. In the second part of the day, the duration of each interpretation course with Mr. Dimos Papatzalakis may be extended, depending on his desire to deepen certain aspects.

    Other technical information for online participants:

    1. Participants are asked to install the Zoom platform in advance and to check that everything works properly, including the video camera and the microphone that will be used.
    2. If a participant needs to create a new Zoom account, he / she is asked to fill in his/her name, first name (with the title, if applicable), as well as the place of residence and age in parentheses. Ex: M. Iustin Craiu (m. Sihăstria, 32) or Prof. Ionuț Dima (Bucharest, 25).
    3. Participants are asked to log in at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time for the sessions. The organizers have the right to select from the ”waiting room” only the participants officially registered for this event.
    4. The organizers recommend that you use a wired internet connection or a wi-fi connection that is as reliable as possible and that you have tested in advance. Connecting your computer via hotspot (from your mobile phone) is not recommended.
    5. Throughout the course, the host will mute participants’ microphones; comments and questions can be addressed in writing (via chat) directly to the host. During the ‘questions and answers’ sessions, the guest may invite participants to open their video camera and ask questions live.
    6. If one of the participants intervenes in the discussion (upon the request of the guest or of the host), he / she is asked to make sure that there is no background noise.
